I dink I love you.

Click on the image above to listen.

I dink I love you.

I float in the clouds and dream

Of the sun filled day

You are my favourite partner

On and off the court.

The ball rests on top of the net.

I bet it will fall and be hard to get.

You know how and where to hit the ball.

From here to there you know all

And now after a few sets

When you get the sweats.

I know all of you. From top to tail.

I’ve heard each and every tale.

We win a lot when we jell.

Cause then we play extra well.

That’s the way the ball bounces.

Low and soft. My partner pounces.

When you hit a winning shot

And you’re running hot.

You always smile and raise a hand

for them up there and say thank you.

When I hit the ball out,

I quietly mumble sorry.

You laugh and say to me.

Now let’s go forward.

When you fall and mishit the ball.

You don’t bawl and brawl.

You rehearse and practice your shot.

Aiming for that perfect spot.

 The people playing pickleball

Tell me how and where to move.

And today I’m in the groove.

I care about you because you care

And the best thing of all.

After a set of pickleball

You’ve seen me smile and bawl.

You know everything. You’ve seen it all.

Queens Domain Parkrun

Click on the image to hear the song.

 3 2 1 run

Run, run,   ruuunnnnnn.

Run and     yak

Clickety      clack

Don’t look back

And then without warning

Once again, it's Saturday morning.

My arms and legs are freezing.

I hear deep and heavy breathing

Keep your dog on a short lead.

Special breed. Missed his feed.

Children under your care.

Stay together.  Run with flair.

I take my tablets before I run.

Now my blood tests are all done.

My shirt tells you my story

As it puffs in all its glory.

Today my red socks and blue shorts.

I needed to lose some weight.

Not tomorrow. I Can’t wait.

Hefty and big is not my fate.

Stopped smoking. Started to run.

In the rain, frost, shade and sun.

Give me a healthy, happy brain.

A big, big gain with no pain.

A photo proves I was here.

Same as I ran just last year.

Marshall takes my photo.

Make me look fast not slow.

Us volunteers can all hear

The runners as they get near.

Run through finish line.

Feel blissful and divine.

All huff and puff and pant.

Will never say they can’t.

Now home to celebrate.

Cup of coffee is their fate.
